Italian Wines: Brunello & Friends Sangiovese Workshop at Idiom Wines

Wow! What a way to start to the winter season of monthly wine events at Idiom!

The new container from Italy has finally arrived, allowing them to go ahead with this event that will unpack the complex landscape of top Tuscan Sangiovese wines that is being offered in their Vinotria.co.za portfolio.

The special focus will be on the cru hilltop town of Montalcino, located south of Siena and famous for its Brunello wine.

They are very pleased to welcome Andrea Maiolatesi, the export manager of world-renowned Brunello producer Castello Banfi, who will share the history of the Mariani family’s superb estate in Montalcino, now considered to be one of the benchmarks in enogastronomic wine tourism and premium hospitality experience in the region.

The interactive tasting workshop will consist of 5 different flights of Sangiovese wines, exploring different topics and building up to a climax of highly rated Brunellos and Sangiovese Riservas. The final flight will be tasted blind to see if we can identify the Brunello in the line-up!

You will finish with an optional early Fiorentina Steak & Sangiovese dinner in the Idiom Restaurant featuring a Bistecca Fiorentina (Florentine-style T-Bone steak – a tradition that goes back to the days of the Medici family) paired with more juicy Sangiovese examples.

Join Idiom Wines s on the 28th at this not-to-be-missed opportunity to enjoy some of Italy’s finest wines. Please note that ticket numbers for this event are limited due to the premium nature of the wines being tasted.
