The Manor at Nederburg in Paarl is pulling out all the stops to make this year’s Valentine’s Day (Tuesday, 14 February) one to cherish and remember. Couples can choose between two superb lunch (12:00 to 16:00) and dinner (17:00 to 21:00) with two options available:
- a romantic picnic in the beautiful garden at R650 per couple, or,
- delicious platters of food served to your table on the terrace of the manor house, offered at R600 per couple.
Both options are available for lunch and dinner. So yes, you can have a picnic or enjoy platters on the terrace while the sun sets over the lush vineyards and majestic Drakenstein Mountains, if you can’t make the lunch gathering. There’ll be live musical entertainment on the terrace by local artist John Niel, who’ll be setting the mood with an array of old and new romantic songs.
The Valentine’s picnic basket serves two adults, and includes all you’ll need, from delicious food and drink, crockery and cutlery to glassware, napkins, a blanket and cushions. The scrumptious line-up features cold meats, cheeses, pâtés, nuts, olives, fresh fruit, bread and lavash, chicken salad, tomato and goat cheese tartlets, avocado and grapefruit salad as well as decadent chocolate brownie squares, strawberries & chocolate ganache, and strawberry coulis. When it comes to wine, select your choice of a bottle of Nederburg Première Cuvée Brut sparkling wine, or any one of the varietal and blended wines that form part of the Nederburg’s The Winemasters collection. Soft drinks, mineral waters, beers, ciders and hot beverages will be available at an extra cost.
The Valentine’s terrace platters and small plates, also serving two, offer vegetable spring rolls with a soy dipping sauce; mushroom and feta tartlets; fresh garden salad; crispy squid with Chenin blanc, garlic and coriander crème and a citrus dressing; beef bitterballen and mustard sauce; artisanal cheeses and cold meats with homemade bread and crackers; decadent chocolate brownie squares, strawberries & chocolate ganache, and strawberry coulis; as well as your choice of a bottle of Nederburg Première Cuvée Brut sparkling wine, or any wine in Nederburg’s The Winemasters collection. Order soft drinks, mineral waters, beers, ciders and hot beverages from your waitron as an additional extra to be added to your account.
Couples joining the Valentine’s festivities at The Manor will each receive a complimentary wine cocktail on arrival, together with a small gift pack with a bath bomb and sweet cookies.
