Enjoy dining like never before in the Cape Winelands at the award-winning Moody Lagoon Restaurant. Resting on the banks of the moody Botriver Lagoon, in an elevated setting, you can enjoy views of the expansive lagoon and Atlantic ocean.

Delectable dishes are prepared with the finest, freshest, seasonal ingredients.

Chef Annie Badenhorst is pulling out all the stops with menus packed with flavour, excitement, and surprise.

You can expect to see a redesigned menu every few weeks. The concept for the ‘small plate’ menu is to give visitors an opportunity to explore and taste a variety of dishes, rather than just a single dish. We suggest ordering 2-3 plates each.

Chef Annie hails from the beautiful Otjiwarongo in Namibia. Annie’s training in classical French cooking at the Zevenwacht Chef School, combined with her love of comfort food gives you fine cuisine that is soothing and satisfying. Supported by Sous Chef, Jamie Blood, along with a brilliant team in the kitchen, they never cease to amaze.
Paired with a glass of wine and a view…

Each plate is carefully paired with a wine from the Benguela Cove range. Intensive tasting with all wines is done, alongside the winemakers, to find the perfect fit. If you are a stickler for good food and wine, this is for you.

At Moody Lagoon restaurant, you are spoilt for choice when it comes to the view. Whether dining in our main dining area, or choosing an al fresco option there is always something to catch the eye.

The restaurant interior is decorated with beautiful art from contemporary artists. The courtyard offers protection from the Cape wind, giant chess and other family games to enjoy. Seated outside, you have the lagoon almost literally at your feet; where you can enjoy the cool ocean breeze and salty notes lingering in the air, capturing the essence of our Estate.

  • Open from Wednesday to Sunday for lunch 12:00 – 15:00 and weekend brunch 10:00 – 11:30, expect outstanding views, a casual and relaxed daytime eatery near the harmonious Hermanus.

Enjoy the jazzy, modern interiors of the restaurant or dine al fresco on the lagoon side, basking in the stunning views and drinking in the ocean breeze.
