On Friday, 27 March 2026, the kitchen lights will glow a little brighter at 1000 Hills Chef School as talented student chefs take centre stage for an unforgettable Gourmet Evening.

Starting at 6:00 PM for 6:30 PM, guests are invited to settle in for a beautifully curated multi-course dining experience priced at R625 per person — a celebration of creativity, precision and flavour crafted by the rising stars of the culinary world.

A Thoughtfully Curated Multi-Course Menu

The evening’s menu has been carefully designed to take guests on a refined yet exciting culinary journey:

  • Butternut with Flavours of Asia A delicate opening of roasted peanut, spring onion and rice wine vinegar, offering a vibrant balance of sweetness and tang.

  • Spicy Carrot Mousse Silky carrot mousse paired with red chilli cream cheese and macadamia nut brittle — creamy, crunchy and gently spiced.

  • Crispy Chicken Breast Panko-coated chicken infused with sesame, ginger and rooibos for a distinctly South African twist.

  • Red Miso Braised Pork Belly Slow-cooked pork belly with red miso, pear chutney, broccoli and coriander — rich, savoury and beautifully layered.

  • Beef Fillet Steak Perfectly cooked medium-rare fillet served with baked pumpkin, mustard and salted caramel for a bold sweet-and-savoury harmony.

  • Brie Cheese Course Creamy brie complemented by apple, vanilla and cinnamon — comforting and elegant.

  • Tiramisu A classic Italian finish, light yet indulgent, rounding off the evening on a high note.

Each course is thoughtfully paired with wines from Gabriëlskloof, enhancing every flavour profile — from tropical Chenin Blanc notes with the earlier courses to the bold depth of “The Blend” with the beef fillet.
