Botanical Adventures and Mixology Masterclasses are shaking things up at The Good Life Show Africa

The Good Life Show Africa is not just serving food trends and wellness inspiration this year, it is also shaking things up rather stylishly.

From 29 to 31 May at the CTICC, the Time Out Market Cape Town Wild & Stirred Chill Zone is set to become one of the event’s most intriguing attractions, offering visitors a botanical playground where cocktails, creativity and conscious consumption take centre stage.

Judging by the imagery, this is not a corner for quietly sipping in the background.

  • It is a lively, polished space where master crafters are very much in their element, shaker tins in hand and storytelling clearly part of the pour. In partnership with Time Out Market Cape Town, The Good Life Show Africa has assembled an impressive lineup of mixology talent.

Charné van Heerden, founder of Hiball and the 2023 National Best Bartender, brings her signature approach to elevated simplicity. Roxanne Read adds a theatrical edge with sensory-led experiences that blur the line between performance and cocktail culture. Sabrina Traubner arrives with the kind of high-energy expertise that suggests nobody will be leaving underwhelmed.

Then there is Yorick Faict of The House of Machines Cape Town, championing sustainable, zero-waste mixology with his root-to-tip philosophy, alongside Aidan Powrie of Unclaimed Bar, whose adventurous distilling approach promises something far more exciting than a predictable drink order.

Guests can go beyond simply tasting, with guided urban foraging experiences and Learning with Liquids sessions designed to unpack the technical skills, ingredients and intentional thinking behind modern mixology.

For those who appreciate a drink with a story, a little science and perhaps a touch of theatre, the Chill Zone may be one of the most entertaining stops at the show. Tickets start from R150!
