A new Look for Bombay Brasserie at Taj Cape Town

An extensive renovation is underway.

Vibrant colours, a courtyard and other symbolisms are set to define to newly expanded restaurant that brings you India’s finest dining right in the heart of Cape Town.

Prepare yourself for a restaurant that is not only double the original size but also spilling over with colours true to Indian culture such as blue and green to represent immortality, bravery and determination – tying in with the new vision of the restaurant.

These colours will touch all the elements from the wall panelling to the chair designs, lamp shades and table cloths. Wood, ornate tiles and brass and gold accents will be added to balance it all out – all centred around a show kitchen.

If patrons need a breather, they’ll be able to stroll through the Indian-style courtyard, inspired by a traditional spice market littered with cooking utensils, baskets, hanging décor and spices to fragrance the air.

Bombay Brasserie is also set to say good-bye to Twankey bar to make space for a new casual section that will include a pre-dinner bar area and mezzanine dining section for more easy-going dining with all of the Taj charm. This area will also be used for private groups and functions.

During the renovation, guests can still enjoy signature dishes from Bombay Brasserie at Taj Cape Town’s Mint Restaurant and Terrace.

We can’t wait to see how it turns out!
