Every family has one. The Dad who guards the braai like a national treasure. The one with rules about fire, tongs, timing, and exactly who is allowed to flip the meat.
This Father’s Day, De Vette Mossel, Kleine Zalze, and Donkey Long Tong are celebrating those braai legends with a competition that is all about the stories behind the fire.
The prize lineup is enough to make any braai master smile.
- One lucky winner will walk away with the ultimate Father’s Day package, including a Donkey Long Tong Leather Jack Sack valued at R6 600, a case of premium Kleine Zalze wines, and a seafood feast for four at their nearest De Vette Mossel branch.
- Three additional winners will each receive a seafood feast for four, two bottles of Kleine Zalze Chenin Blanc, and a selection of sought-after Donkey Long Tong braai gear, including prizes such as The Blower, The Fire Apron, and the Donkey Combo.
Entering is simple. Participants need to share their Dad’s famous braai rule and explain exactly what happens when someone breaks it. Whether it involves a stern warning, a dramatic speech about fire management, or an immediate ban from touching the tongs, the more memorable the story, the better. Enter on Facebook and Instagram.
The top four comments will be selected as winners. Entries close on 17 June, with winners announced on 19 June. It’s the perfect excuse to celebrate the fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and braai bosses who believe there is a right way to do things around the fire. After all, every braai legend has rules. This Father’s Day, those rules could be worth a prize.
