A Father’s Day Feast at The President Hotel with Craft Beer, Fire-cooked Favourites, and Ocean Views

The President Hotel is giving Father’s Day a proudly South African flavour, complete with craft beer, fire-cooked favourites, generous sharing plates, and the kind of dessert table that may require strategic planning.

On Sunday, 21 June at 1pm, guests can celebrate Dad with a South African-inspired feast set against the backdrop of Cape Town.

Priced at R595 per adult and R295 per child, the experience includes a welcome draft beer on arrival, which feels like a very appropriate start to Father’s Day.

  • The sharing-style menu begins with tapas and craft beer, featuring grilled roosterkoek, mini boerewors rolls, chilli garlic and herb barbecue prawns, and sun-dried tomato, corn and risotto croquettes. Market salads bring colour and texture with dishes like cumin and biltong spiced pull-apart bread, rainbow coriander cabbage slaw, chargrilled beetroot and feta salad, and roasted honey butternut with almond and cranberry.
  • Around the fire, the menu gets properly hearty with Cape Malay mussel pot, curry lamb and vegetable pot, shisanyama barbecue, smoked paprika beef sirloin, lamb chops, sosaties, crayfish tails, gamefish, chicken, and mushroom, tofu and courgette skewers.
  • Sides include buttered corn, sweet boer pampoen, baked baby potatoes, wood-fired rustic vegetables, and crispy pap.
  • To finish, guests can enjoy nostalgic local treats including peppermint crisp petit gâteaux, hertzoggies, milktart verrines, malva pudding with caramel crème anglaise, and fresh fruit.
