Eid al-Adha is a time centred around gathering, generosity, and, naturally, a table that keeps calling everyone back for just one more plate.
At 126 Cape Kitchen & Café at Hyatt Regency Cape Town, the occasion is being marked with a thoughtfully curated buffet that brings together familiar celebratory flavours with a distinctly Cape Town touch.
Taking place on 28 May 2026, the Eid al-Adha menu is priced at R495 per person and offers a generously layered dining experience designed for sharing, sampling, and settling in properly.
- The spread begins with comforting starters, including chicken haleem, a fresh bread basket, and a selection of traditional breads such as mini vetkoek, mosbolletjies, naan, and roti. From there, the grazing station makes a strong case for arriving hungry, with everything from beetroot, feta, walnut and rocket salad to roasted butternut with quinoa, green goddess pasta salad, Arabic mezze, assorted samoosas with dips, homemade pies with nut chutney, and soutvleis.
- For those who believe the main event should absolutely be several main events, the hot station delivers with seafood paella, lamb knuckle curry, butter chicken, and beef biryani, while the live station adds a local favourite with braaied snoek and trimmings.
- The carvery keeps the feast going with tandoori chicken, roast sirloin, peppercorn and mushroom jus, and Yorkshire pudding, alongside hearty accompaniments including honey glazed roasted carrots, cauliflower and broccoli au gratin, saffron rice, and Cajun roasted potato wedges.
- And because no festive feast should end quietly, dessert arrives in full force with malva pudding, baked cheesecake, milk tart, peppermint crisp, pampoenkoekies, and fresh fruit platters.
