Flammkuchen is a South German dish composed of bread dough rolled out very thinly in the shape of a rectangle or circle, which is then covered with fromage blanc or crème fraîche, thinly sliced onions and lardons.
This German tradition has been brought to the Cape Winelands by Bodega Restaurant on Dornier Wine Estate, where these are offered every Wednesday – Sunday from 15:00 – 17:00. Several options are available from the standard classic that includes bacon, red onion and creme fraiche to even Vegetarian and Asian pulled pork options.
Enjoy these authentic Flammkuchen in front of the cosy fireplace at Bodega Restaurant.
