These days’ cellar doors tempt wine tourists with special food and wine pairings at the cellar tasting centre – from biltong, nuts, dried fruits and wine to cheese, chocolate, and nougat and gourmet canapé tasting platters. The judges of the Klink Awards went looking for the best Winelands experiences in the art of food and wine pairing over the tasting counter.
Rhinofields food and wine experience Durbanville Hills
The Rhinofields Reserve food and wine experience at Durbanville Hills combines a selection of sample dishes with subtle and interesting flavours and textures to enhance the aromas of each of the six premium range wines on offer. All the wines to be tasted are exceptional in their own right, having been awarded both locally and internationally. They include a Top 10 in the World at the Chardonnay du Monde and Gold and Regional Trophy wins at the Decanter World Wine Awards. However, Sauvignon Blanc is their speciality – as are the magnificent views and the striking architecture.
