What is happening at Beluga for Restaurant Week?
Restaurant Week South Africa is bringing a generous helping of choice to Beluga in the V&A Waterfront, where diners can enjoy a 3-Course Signature Experience for R445 per person.
From 25 September to 1 November 2026, more than 200 of South Africa’s most exciting restaurants will serve exclusive Restaurant Week menus.
- Two-course lunches start from R195 and three-course dinners from R295, with each venue setting its own menu price. At Beluga, the three-course experience is R445. Bookings can be made through https://restaurantweek.co.za , with VIP bookings opening from 14 September 2026.
Available for lunch and dinner, the Beluga menu gives diners plenty of freedom to build their own three-course meal. The restaurant’s Euro-Asian fusion style is reflected in everything from sushi and Asian prawns to venison, steak and classic South African-inspired desserts.
The starter selection gets things moving with Roasted Butternut, Beetroot & Feta Salad, combining caramelised butternut, beetroot, fresh rocket, feta, toasted pumpkin seeds and honey-balsamic reduction. Venison Carpaccio pairs herb-crusted venison with horseradish crème fraîche, fresh herbs, orange segments and citrus vinaigrette.
There are also Asian Prawns, featuring four grilled prawns with ramen noodles, sweet soy sauce, green vegetable stir-fry and sesame seeds, while the Mussel Bowl offers steamed black mussels with a choice of creamy lemon or garlic butter sauce and Beluga toast.
For squid fans, Baby Squid can be grilled with Cajun spice, seasonal salsa and lemon aioli, or served crispy with tempura coating and signature spicy peanut dressing.
The sushi choices include four-piece Salmon or Vegan Roses, or a four-piece California Roll with options including salmon, tuna, prawn, vegetarian or vegan fillings.
For mains, Beef Steak features a 200g rib eye with buttered mashed potatoes or salad and rich beef jus. The Beluga Burger combines a flame-grilled beef patty, Emmental, smoky tomato chutney, onion marmalade, panko onion rings, sesame roll and sriracha mayo, served with rustic fries or salad. A vegetarian option is available.
Line Fish comes grilled with crushed baby potatoes or salad, a choice of lemon butter or garlic butter sauce, seasonal salsa and a lemon wedge.
The menu also brings in some serious sushi credentials. The Chef’s Sushi Collection includes 10 pieces comprising salmon roses, tuna and salmon sashimi, rainbow roll, tuna crunch, and tuna and salmon nigiri. The Vegan Sushi Collection also has 10 pieces, with vegan roses, fiesta, tofu crunch and vegan supreme roll.
Dessert offers four options. White Chocolate Beignets are deep-fried white chocolate balls served with salted caramel sauce and vanilla pod ice cream. Persian Orange & Almond Cake is vegan and gluten free, served with orange syrup and vegan vanilla ice cream.
Crème Brûlée features classic vanilla baked custard with pistachio tuile, while Malva Pudding brings a Rooibos-infused version with crème anglaise.
