Cold Friday evenings call for candlelight, comforting food and a table that encourages guests to stay a little longer, and The Homestead is serving all three with its Winter Bistro Nights.
Hosted every Friday from May to August, the cosy pop-up brings relaxed bistro-style dining to Plumstead, with arrival times available at 18:00, 18:30 and 19:00.
On 17, 24 and 31 July 2026, guests can choose any two courses from the Bistro Menu for R425 per person.
- The menu starts with plenty of tempting options, including prawn or baby marrow tempura with citrus ponzu dip, spicy tuna and avocado tacos, sweet and sticky burnt end pork belly bites, and hot honey halloumi flatbread.
- Main courses lean firmly into winter comfort. Guests can tuck into sole with burnt lemon butter and spring onion rice pilaf, beef rib eye with pepper truffle sauce, fries and rocket salad, or a hearty braised lamb neck and white bean casserole. Other favourites include chicken panko schnitzel with crushed roast potatoes, cheese fondue and buttered greens, a toasted brioche cheeseburger sandwich with fries, and sweet corn gnocchi.
- Dessert is left in the chef’s capable hands with a changing sweet special to finish the evening.
With candlelit tables, generous plates and an easygoing atmosphere, Winter Bistro Nights offer a relaxed excuse to gather friends, plan a date night or simply let someone else handle Friday dinner.
