This Women’s Day, The Homestead is inviting guests to celebrate the remarkable women in their lives with an elegant Vintage Lunch inspired by timeless recipes, classic hospitality, and the women who have shaped kitchens and family tables through the generations.
Taking place on Sunday, 9 August 2026 from 12:00, the experience is a tribute to lady chefs, mothers, sisters, aunts, and every woman worth celebrating.
Priced at R550 per person, the carefully curated menu embraces nostalgic flavours while presenting them with The Homestead’s signature contemporary touch.
- Guests will begin by selecting one of two beautifully reimagined starters. The Prawn Cocktail Makeover offers a fresh take on a beloved classic, while the Cheese Soufflé with Poached Pear Salad provides an elegant vegetarian alternative.
- For the main course, diners can preselect from three refined dishes inspired by iconic culinary traditions. Choices include Sole Meunière à la Julia Child, the ever-popular Steak Diane with Mushroom, or a vegetarian Spinach and Ricotta Polpettine. Each main is accompanied by a selection of seasonal sides served to the table, including Duchess potatoes with wild garlic, fine beans with almond gratin, and beetroot à l’orange, creating a meal designed for sharing and lingering conversation.
- The afternoon concludes with a true showstopper: a classic Baked Alaska, bringing a theatrical and nostalgic finish to an already memorable celebration.
Set within the warm surroundings of The Homestead, the Vintage Lunch offers more than a beautiful meal. It is an opportunity to gather generations around the same table, celebrate the women who inspire us every day, and enjoy an afternoon filled with exceptional food and heartfelt hospitality.
