An Afternoon of Cake Decoration & Afternoon Tea awaits at The President Hotel for Women’s Day

This Women’s Day, The President Hotel is inviting guests to swap the usual celebrations for an afternoon filled with creativity, delicious treats, and quality time together.

Taking place on Sunday, 9 August 2026, the Women’s Day Cake Decoration Masterclass offers a hands-on experience hosted by Executive Chef Chante Rabie, where guests will decorate their own bento cake while enjoying an elegant afternoon tea.

The experience begins with a welcome mimosa before moving into a relaxed decorating session designed for all skill levels.

• Running from 12:30 to 16:00, the event is about more than cake. Guests can indulge in a generous harvest-style cheese and charcuterie table featuring locally sourced artisanal cheeses, breads, dips, marinated olives and crudités, followed by refined high tea favourites including fresh oysters with apple and mango salsa, salmon and avocado rose, and honey-glazed salad with goat’s cheese.

The menu continues with an impressive selection of hot canapés, from confit duck brioche rolls and lobster brioche to ponzu-seared beef, lamb croquettes and roasted baby aubergine skewers. To round off the afternoon, an opera-style selection of handcrafted sweet treats includes poached peach with mascarpone crème, milk chocolate desserts with exotic berries, butternut tart, and mini scones served with fresh cream, lemon curd and fynbos honey drizzle.
