Cape Town food and wine lovers have another reason to clear their calendars this winter as Villa 47 welcomes the return of its popular Vineyard Stories series on 24 June, this time featuring the acclaimed Ken Forrester Wines.
Designed for guests who enjoy discovering the stories behind the bottle as much as the wine itself, the evening pairs a carefully curated five-course menu with some of the Stellenbosch estate’s most celebrated wines.
At R895 per person, the experience offers a journey through flavour, craftsmanship, and South African wine heritage in the heart of Bree Street.
- The evening begins with mushroom arancini served on a Parmigiano cream, paired with Sparklehorse Cap Classique, setting the tone for a menu built around elegant pairings.
- The first course follows with Carpaccio di Tonno, accompanied by caper aioli, crispy capers, jalapeño, and citrus dressing, matched with Ken Forrester Old Vine Reserve Chenin Blanc.
- A rich Risotto al Parmigiano takes centre stage for the second course, paired with the renowned Ken Forrester FMC Chenin Blanc, before guests enjoy a refreshing cucumber, gin and tonic sorbet palate cleanser.
- For the main event, Italian herb-roasted lamb rack is served with rosemary potato wedges and garlic tenderstem broccoli, complemented by Ken Forrester The Gypsy.
- Dessert rounds off the evening with a classic Crema Catalana paired with Ken Forrester Fairy Dust Palomino Chenin Blanc.
