A Cabernet Journey worth cancelling other Plans for at Simonsig Family Vineyards: 9 wines and a 3-course dinner

For wine lovers who enjoy a good story in their glass, Simonsig Family Vineyards is setting the table for an evening that goes well beyond the usual swirl-and-sip.

Vintages in Conversation – Cabernet Sauvignon is an intimate wine and dine experience designed for guests who appreciate how a wine evolves over time, preferably with an excellent meal in front of them.

Taking place on Thursday, 4 June 2026 at 18:00 in the Simonsig Family Vineyards Tasting Room, this exclusive vertical tasting focuses on one of the world’s most admired varietals:

  • Cabernet Sauvignon. The evening offers a rare opportunity to explore how the same wine can transform across different vintages, from vibrant youthful expressions to gracefully matured bottles with plenty more to say.

Guests will be guided through three curated tasting flights, each featuring three wines, creating a layered journey through Simonsig’s Cabernet story. The lineup includes celebrated labels such as the Simonsig Labyrinth Cabernet Sauvignon and Tiara, alongside other carefully selected vintages that showcase the estate’s approach to structure, ageing, and craftsmanship.

Because thoughtful wine deserves thoughtful food, the experience also includes a three-course meal, carefully paired to complement the tasting journey rather than compete with it. It’s the kind of evening where comparing tasting notes is encouraged, but quietly going back for another sip is equally acceptable.

Priced at R850 per person, this is a deliberately intimate event with limited seating, making it one for genuine Cabernet enthusiasts rather than casual “I’ll just have whatever’s open” drinkers. Bookings are essential.
