Free Craft Gin Tasting at Bootlegger Coffee Company

Hope on Hopkins, a small-batch craft distillery in Salt River, will be explaining a bit about their distilling process, the history of gin and what makes gin “gin”, during this curated tasting at Bootlegger Coffee Company.

This guided tour features 3 different styles of gin & tonics, with an explanation of what makes each of them unique in terms of their flavour profile.

Set up in 2014 by ex-lawyers Lucy Beard and Leigh Lisk, Hope on Hopkins was the brain-child of this South African couple who had been working as lawyers in London for nearly 15 years when they decided to make the switch. They followed the sun back home – after falling in love with craft gin in the Mediterranean – and created the Mother City’s first artisanal distillery in a refurbished warehouse in Salt River.

Their flagship Hope Gins are their Salt River Gin, London Dry Gin and Mediterranean Gin, while they also offer limited release gins from time to time. They also design and distil gins for other brands, including Musgrave Gin, Bloedlemoen and Clemengold.

Note: Tickets are free (but seats are limited to 20 people). Bookings are essential.
