4 Course Heritage Harvest Meal at The Homestead

The Homestead, a heritage building dating back to 1820 will be hosting you to a wonderful braai on Heritage Day that will be fun for the entire family with a multi-course braai menu planned including Vegetarian options for only R295 per person.

The Homestead is hosting a Heritage Day lunch on 24 September

The Homestead is ready and waiting to host you. On Thursday, 24 September from 12h00, you’ll be welcomed back into The Homestead garden with a delicious 4 course harvest meal and Rousseau wines.

The menu is R295 per person, including a wine tasting! 

On arrival

  • Smoked Snoek “Viskoekies” with “Hanepoot” & apricot chutney
  • Vegetarian option: Spiced carrot cakes with “Hanepoot” & apricot chutney

On the table

  • “Braai Broodjie”-jaffels filled with Boerenkaas, tomato and onion marmalade

Main course

  • Whole roast shoulder of lamb with spiced coriander and brown vinegar rub
  • “Bobotie” basted chicken sosaties from the braai

Vegetarian option:

  • Grilled garlic butter cauliflower steak’s from the braai
  • Lentil “bobotie” with Cape malay spices

Enjoyed with:

  • Ash-baked sweet potatoes served with farm butter, salt and pepper
  • Coleslaw with sultanas, peas, celery and creamy yoghurt dressing
  • Shaved marrow with roast sweet corn, local feta and pinenut lemon dressing

Dessert

  • Coffee and cremora with Hertzoggie truffle
