Curious about whisky but not sure where to begin?
Solera by Mothercity Liquor is making the journey into the world of whisky approachable with Whisky Rediscovered, a guided tasting designed for discovery rather than intimidation.
Taking place on Saturday, 1 August 2026, from 18:00 to 21:00, the intimate experience invites guests to explore how whisky changes across different countries, production methods and flavour profiles, all in a relaxed and welcoming setting at The Woodstock Exchange.
- Priced at R350 per person, the guided tasting features a curated flight of six whiskies, showcasing styles from Ireland, the United States, Scotland and Japan. Guests will sample expressions including Green Spot Irish Whiskey, 1792 Small Batch, Benriach 12 Year Old, and Nikka Pure Malt, while learning how to nose, taste and appreciate the unique characteristics of each pour.
No previous whisky knowledge is needed. The evening is designed to help newcomers build confidence while giving enthusiasts a deeper appreciation for the remarkable diversity found in every glass. Guests will also receive tasting notes to take home, making it easy to continue the journey long after the final dram.
With limited seating available, Whisky Rediscovered offers an engaging introduction to one of the world’s most fascinating spirits in an intimate environment dedicated to thoughtful tasting.
