Where Kids Play and Adults Stay for Dessert: Easter at The President

Easter at The President Hotel is less about a single meal and more about making a weekend of it.

Set against a relaxed coastal backdrop, the hotel brings together good food, light entertainment, and just enough festive detail to make the occasion feel special without overdoing it. [full menu]

The result is an experience that works just as well for families as it does for those simply looking to enjoy a well-planned afternoon.

  • It starts on Saturday, 4 April at 14:00 with a harvest-inspired Easter High Tea. Guests are welcomed with a Rooibos spritz before settling in for a spread of sweet and savoury bites, from classic sandwiches to scones and desserts with a seasonal twist. A live violin adds to the atmosphere, while younger guests are kept busy with hands-on activities, from decorating eggs to face painting and a full Easter egg hunt.
  • On Sunday, 5 April at 13:00, the focus shifts to a more generous, festive lunch. The buffet covers a wide range, from fresh starters and local favourites like pickled fish to hearty mains including roasted lamb, beef sirloin, and line fish. Desserts lean into Easter tradition, with hot cross bun pudding, carrot cake, and chocolate treats rounding things off.

The experience is designed with families in mind. While adults take their time over the buffet and live band entertainment, kids have their own space to play, complete with a dedicated buffet and sweet station.

At R445 per adult for High Tea (R275 per child) and R645 per adult for Sunday Lunch (R355 per child), the offering is structured but still relaxed.

Bookings are essential. For those looking to make more of the Easter weekend, The President Hotel offers a simple plan: start with tea, return for lunch, and let the rest fall into place.
