Our professional Sommelier is on hand to introduce you to the award-winning wine list and suggest some interesting wines that may just be the perfect match to you choice of dishes.
Lunch Buffet at Azure Restaurant
The Twelve Apostels Hotel invited us last month to experience the buffet ourselves, and this wasn’t an opportunity we’d ever miss out on.
Our first round included a grilled Cape Salmon in a Moroccan sauce, Asian Beef Stir Fry and a Cape Malay Vegetable Curry. The salmon was perfectly grilled and full of flavour. The fresh Moroccan sauce gave the dish a fantastic balance. The Asian beef stir fry was also excellent. I’m a huge fan of Asian cuisine, and every element of this dish made me want more. They all interacted perfectly with one another to make one of the best beef stir fry I have had in a very long time. I loved it.
After a small break, we ventured out to the buffet tables again for our second serving: Cold Vegetable soup, pear and goat cheese salad and beef with a pepper corn sauce + lamb with a red wine sauce. While everything was excellent, especially the beef and lamb, my winner was the pear and goat cheese salad. Sometimes, it is the simple things in life that give you the most pleasure. With food, this can often be the case as well and this salad is the proof for that. It was a wonderful combination of textures and flavors.
For our last helping we moved outside to enjoy the stunning view from the terrace at the Twelve Apostels. Chocolate cremaux, an apple crumble, strawberries and oysters was our dessert. We went back to the buffet tables a couple of times. You can never eat too many oysters and strawberries. Yum!
