Local Bands battle for Glory and R20,000 at Quay Four in the V&A Waterfront

Cape Town’s local music scene is about to turn up the volume as Quay Four launches another exciting edition of its Battle of the Bands, giving emerging artists the chance to perform in front of live audiences while competing for fantastic prizes.

Running from 7 July to 25 August 2026, the opening rounds take place every Tuesday from 19:00, transforming the iconic V&A Waterfront venue into a stage for some of the city’s most promising bands.

Performers will battle it out for a prize pool that includes R20,000 in cash, musical equipment and sponsor vouchers, while guests also stand a chance to win weekly spot prizes simply by joining the action.

  • The evenings are about far more than the competition. Visitors can settle in with Quay Four’s popular combo specials, enjoy an ice-cold Castle Tank Beer, and soak up the lively waterfront atmosphere as each band gives it everything on stage. Every performance brings something different, making each Tuesday a fresh excuse to head down to the harbour.

For bands looking to step into the spotlight, entries are still open, while music lovers can simply grab a table, support local talent and enjoy an evening filled with great entertainment.
