  • For seafood lovers in Johannesburg, The Prawnery in Keyes Art Mile, Rosebank, is bringing plenty of ocean flavour to the campaign with its Ocean’s Premier Seafood 3-Course Dinner, priced at R725 per person. Book your table now!

The Prawnery describes itself as a destination where seafood meets fire and flavour, with bold flavours, smoky cooking and artistic flair at the centre of the experience. Its Robata grill is central to the restaurant’s fire-and-sea approach, making the Restaurant Week menu particularly well suited to diners who like their seafood with a little smoke and char.

The three-course dinner is available Monday to Sunday, with the Restaurant Week menu served for dinner only.

The starter selection offers five choices. Beef Carpaccio pairs thinly sliced beef with lemon and olive oil dressing, toasted pine nuts, Parmesan aioli, wild rocket, balsamic glaze and cracked pepper. Seared Scallops come with romesco sauce, black lumpfish roe and fresh gremolata, while Grilled Octopus is served with chilli and lime romesco, smoked chimichurri, garlic crisps and a citrus rocket salad.

For something with a little more heat, Chilli & Garlic Shrimp combines shrimp, onion, garlic, mild chilli, butter and cream sauce, served with toasted focaccia and a crispy potato nest. The vegetarian Woodland Mushroom Arancini features crispy mushroom arancini, Parmesan cream, black truffle and black garlic.

The main course selection moves between seafood, fire-grilled meats and pasta. Grilled King Prawns are flame-grilled and served with one of The Prawnery’s signature sauces, alongside a choice of savoury rice, twice-cooked fries or a fresh side salad.

Grilled Kingklip Fillet comes with creamy polenta, corn and jalapeño salsa and confit tomato. Fire Grilled Salmon is paired with corn cream, exotic tomato, cannellini and fine bean salsa, plus lemon pepper waffle fries.

Those leaning towards the grill can choose Coal Roasted Beef Fillet, served with garlic and Parmesan pomme purée, roasted pearl onion and glazed carrot tops. Coal Roasted Mozambican Baby Chicken comes with savoury rice or twice-cooked fries. The vegetarian Truffle Mushroom Ravioli features sautéed brown mushrooms, baby spinach, Parmesan cream, truffle oil, pea shoots, crispy basil and shaved Parmesan.

Dessert offers four choices, including Baked Cheesecake with chocolate brownie crust and berry sorbet, and Lemon Meringue Tart with a caramelised biscuit base, tangy lemon tart, Madagascan vanilla meringue, lemon preserve and fresh mint.

The more intriguingly named Breakfast After Dark combines rum baba, sour cream mousse, rooibos-poached pear and toasted honey granola. The final option, Popcorn Custard Crème Brûlé Tart, pairs brûléed popcorn custard and buttered Nutti-Krust tart with burnt butter ice cream and salted caramel popcorn.

With three courses and a broad choice of seafood, meat and vegetarian dishes, The Prawnery’s Restaurant Week offering gives Johannesburg diners a chance to explore its fire-meets-sea approach in one sitting. Restaurant Week VIP bookings open from 14 September 2026, with bookings made via restaurantweek.co.za
