A 5-course Journey through Fryer’s Cove awaits at The Fairway Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort

Wine lovers are in for an exceptional evening on Friday, 28 August 2026, as The Fairway Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort hosts an elegant Fryer’s Cove Wine Pairing Evening celebrating the distinctive wines of the West Coast alongside a beautifully curated five-course menu.

Priced at R750 per person, the experience has been carefully designed to showcase how thoughtfully matched food and wine can elevate every bite and sip.

Guests will begin the evening with seared beef tartar accompanied by egg emulsion, crispy capers, garlic toast, parsley oil, freshly baked breads and flavoured butter, perfectly paired with Fryer’s Cove Chenin Blanc.

  • The first course follows with crisp tempura salmon served alongside nori mayonnaise, preserved lemon and a refreshing citrus salad, complemented by Fryer’s Cove Sauvignon Blanc. The seafood focus continues throughout the evening, highlighting the winery’s renowned coastal style.
  • The second course introduces chicken wings stuffed with duck liver parfait, finished with chimichurri, sriracha mayonnaise, chipotle sauce and herb crumble. This rich and flavourful dish is matched with Fryer’s Cove Grenache Cinsault, bringing depth and spice to the pairing.
  • Before the main course, guests can refresh their palates with a vibrant litchi sorbet and lime granita, preparing them for the evening’s standout seafood dish. Tiger prawn tagliatelle, featuring coal roasted tiger prawns, bouillabaisse sauce, confit tomato, fresh dill and shaved Pecorino, is paired with Fryer’s Cove Bamboes Bay Sauvignon Blanc, celebrating the winery’s signature maritime character.
  • Dessert provides a fitting finale with a comforting pineapple upside-down pudding, served alongside rum and raisin ice cream, mascarpone, meringue shards and gooseberry compote. The sweet finish is beautifully accompanied by Boschendal Luxe Nectar, ending the evening on an indulgent note.
