Heritage Day Celebrations at Harringtons Street: A Day of Braai, Beers, Bands, and More

Harringtons Street in Cape Town is gearing up for an unforgettable Heritage Day celebration, and the lineup promises an extravaganza of food, music, games, and fun for all attendees.

Presented by District, Foul Play, Surfa Rosa, and Harringtons, this event is set to be the highlight of your Heritage Day weekend.

The festivities kick off at 3 PM, and you can expect a day filled with South African heritage in all its glory.

  • The heart of the celebration is a traditional braai, where succulent spit-roasted lamb, salads, bread, and accompaniments will be served from 4 PM onwards for R200. For those seeking a different culinary adventure, an à la carte menu is also available. Bacardi cocktail specials are also on offer.

The musical lineup is also a treat at The District [tickets required].

Starting at 5 PM, the stage will come alive with soulful tunes from Jonathan Stephen Simons, setting the perfect mood for the evening. Following him, Face & The Features will get you grooving, and Visitors Centre will take you on a journey you won’t forget. The night reaches its crescendo with the high-energy performance by Shameless, a Johannesburg-based band that promises to electrify the stage.

While the music sets the tone, there’s plenty more to keep you engaged. Try your hand at games like table tennis, ping pong, and foosball, with exciting prizes up for grabs. A live tattoo artist will be on hand for those looking to commemorate the day in style, and vintage stalls will be available for some retail therapy.
