On Thursday, 24 September, Heritage Day takes on a delicious new dimension with Perdeberg’s Heritage Day Pizza & Wine Pairing.
Available exclusively on Heritage Day from 10am to 4pm, the R180 pairing puts a contemporary spin on familiar South African flavours. The heritage-inspired pizza combines grilled boerewors, chakalaka smoor, caramelised onion, fresh coriander and mozzarella, served alongside a glass of Perdeberg Cellar Pinotage.
It’s a pairing that celebrates two South African favourites, the unmistakable flavours of a traditional braai and the country’s proudly Pinotage, in one relaxed Winelands experience.
Heritage meets date night (25 September)
For those looking to extend the celebrations into the evening, Friday, 25 September brings Heritage Day Date Night at Perdeberg. Priced at R395 per couple, the evening begins at 6pm with a menu that pays homage to local flavours while adding a touch of Winelands indulgence.
The three-course experience starts with traditional roosterkoek served with homemade Chenin Blanc preserve and local cheese, followed by a succulent Paarl beef sirloin with mushroom sauce, rustic-cut fries and onion rings.
Dessert is a nostalgic nod to home: Ouma’s pannekoek with vanilla ice cream, cinnamon and local golden syrup infused with Perdeberg’s famous Chenin Blanc.
