Something suspicious is happening at sea…
This season, The Press in Sea Point invites you to step aboard for Death on Deck, an evening of murder, mystery, laughter and just the right amount of mayhem.
Guests will gather their crew, follow the clues and try to crack the case before the night is over. Expect a playful, interactive evening filled with twists, turns, suspicious characters and plenty of opportunities to test your detective skills.
- But this is not just about solving a mystery. It is also about settling in for a delicious night out. Hosted on Saturday 13 June for R695 pp, the evening includes a 3-course Indian-inspired menu, created to bring warmth, spice and comfort to the table while the drama unfolds around you.
The meal begins with a hearty tomato masala soup, gently spiced and served with crispy mini vegetable samoosas. It is the perfect opening act: rich, warming and packed with flavour.
For mains, guests will enjoy a generous sharing-style spread, including slow-simmered beef rogan josh in a deep, aromatic gravy layered with garlic, ginger and traditional spices. Alongside it, there will be a silky spinach and chickpea korma, cooked in a coconut gravy with coriander, cumin and a hint of garam masala, as well as a tofu matar curry with golden tofu, sweet green peas and a tomato-based masala sauce.
And because every good mystery deserves a dramatic ending, dessert will be loaded brownies served with ice cream.
Whether you come for the clues, the curry, the comedy, or the chance to accuse the cast of murder over dinner, Death on Deck promises to be a night to remember. Gather your crew. Trust no one. And come hungry. Booking is essential. WhatsApp or call 083 372 1172 to reserve your place.
