A Harbour-view Evening of Artisan Breads and Coastal Flavours lands at Brass Bell in Kalk Bay

Thursday evenings at Brass Bell in Kalk Bay are getting a delicious new twist with an experience that celebrates one of life’s simplest pleasures: breaking bread together.

From 18:30 every Thursday, guests are invited to settle in by the ocean and enjoy the restaurant’s Artisan Breads & Small Plates special for just R65 per person.

Designed for sharing, the offering brings together a generous selection of freshly baked homemade breads, flavour-packed butters, vibrant dips, and a comforting bowl of smoked snoek chowder.

  • The menu showcases a variety of breads including focaccia, brioche, wholewheat, multigrain, and pot bread, paired with flavoured butters such as anchovy butter and sun-dried tomato & basil butter. Guests can dip and spread their way through favourites like smokey baba ganoush, hummus, muhammara, guacamole, and snoek pâté, creating a relaxed grazing experience that encourages lingering conversations and second helpings.

Adding a distinctly coastal touch is the smoked snoek chowder, a rich and hearty soup inspired by local flavours and perfectly suited to a chilly evening beside the sea.

With the harbour views, ocean air, and unmistakable Kalk Bay atmosphere, Brass Bell has created a Thursday gathering that feels equal parts comfort food and social occasion. Whether catching up with friends, sharing a casual date night, or simply looking for an excuse to spend an evening by the water, this is a special that proves great food doesn’t need to be complicated. For R65, guests can enjoy fresh bread, good company, and some of the best seaside vibes in Cape Town.
