A Walk With Impact: Vondi’s and Mdzananda Bring Cape Town Together for Dogs in Need

On Sunday, 12 April 2026, the Sea Point Promenade trades its usual rhythm for something a little more purposeful.

Paws on the Promenade brings together dog owners, walkers, and animal lovers for a 5km fundraiser in support of Mdzananda Animal Clinic, in partnership with Vondi’s Holistic Pet Nutrition.

Starting at the Mouille Point Lighthouse, the route runs to the Sea Point Swimming Pool and back, with shorter turnaround options for those who prefer to take it easy.

  • The format is simple. Registration opens at 8:30am, with the walk kicking off at 9:00am sharp. R50 per adult. R50 per dog. R25 for kids under 12. The first 100 dogs to arrive score goodie bags, adding a bit of early motivation.

There is more than just the walk. Expect coffee, snacks, food stalls, crafts, and raffle prizes, making it easy to stay a while after the finish. Guests are encouraged to wear something orange or even dress like their dog, which tends to make the promenade a little more entertaining than usual.

No dog? Still welcome. The event is open to anyone keen to take part.

For those looking to do more, there is the option to walk an adoptable dog on the day, offering real interaction with animals in need. Limited spots are available, so planning ahead helps.

Behind it all is a clear goal: support for township pets through Mdzananda’s ongoing work.

Simple, Social, and Worth Showing Up For. Paws on the Promenade keeps things straightforward. A good walk, a good cause, and a setting that does the rest. Bring a lead, bring a friend, and show up ready to move. Get your tickets now
