3 Things to do on Father’s Day at Spier Wine Farm

It’s going to be a jam-packed day!

Spier Wine Estate does three things really well – wine, food and hospitality. It’s award-winning, it’s organic and it’s warm. The welcome, we mean. So it’s not surprising that their Father’s Day celebrations are also a three-tiered experience.

So what to do?

Start the day with a trip to the tasting room. Wine for breakfast, dad’s bound to love that! For R90 per person, get a chance to taste the Frans K. Smit red blend, which is named after the cellar master and made in limited quantities. It is also Spier’s flagship wine. Added to this will be the organic red First Stone and two premium wines, 21 Gables and Creative Block.

Next, take dad to the braai – the spit braai fit for a king. Slow roasted Karoo lamb and pork spare ribs, corn on the cob, mushroom risotto, chicken lollipops and much more! Accompanied by fresh salad and decadent desserts. Lunch is at 12:30 and is R350 per person and R160 per child under 12. Book via Dineplan.

Or if dad is in the mood for a little – or a lot – more, why not bring him the Eight Restaurant for a feast the Romans would have envied. It features an entire suckling pig, spatchcock chicken and Karoo lamb. Plus plenty delicious sides such as roast veg and biltong salad; and a smoked mussel and bacon potjie and sticky toffee pudding and lemon meringue for dessert. The price is R480 per adult and R200 per child under 12.

Dad’s going to feel so loved! Book your spots now.
