Shimmy Beach Club Launches Light and Sexy New Summer Menu

South Africa’s premier beach club and restaurant, Shimmy Beach Club, has launched its simple yet sexy summer menu, by Executive Chef, Adrian Cook.

Introducing a lighter and sexier taste and look, its revamped menu complements its world-class status as an ultimate beach experience at a restaurant that seats 300 people.

We consider how food makes you feel. Eating a wonderful meal should make you happy, and enjoying it at Shimmy Beach Club while listening to a cool DJ should make it a taste experience. – Executive Chef, Adrian Cook.

You can feel the sand between your toes as you take in the sunset over cocktails at Shimmy’s private beach, or sit in the ocean-facing restaurant with the whole family, enjoying the balance between a lively atmosphere and laid-back Cape Town as your backdrop.

The menu has distinct Mediterranean influences. It’s also packed with lighter meals, healthy options, a diverse vegetarian menu, and something for the kids, too. An African essence comes out in Moroccan spices and koftas.

Shimmy is also thinking about its carbon footprint – and yours – through keeping it as natural as possible by stocking free-range chicken, grass-fed and hormone-free beef and SASSI-approved fresh fish whilst recycling glass, plastic and cans in the restaurant, kitchen and bar.

A vast range of dishes on Shimmy’s new colourful summer menu has something for everyone. Ranging from R45 to R200 per person, with a focus on flavour. This adds to Shimmy’s already vibrant atmosphere with spectacular Atlantic Ocean views, where you can enjoy the sunset while top local and international DJs play.

You can look forward to gorgeous yet simple plating with the likes of tuna with ratatouille or salt baked fish. Try some seared salmon, homemade Shimmy pickles and veggie crisps, or steamed dim sum. If you have a sweet tooth, take a decadent bite of the cinnamon chocolate fondant with chocolate mousse and choc-mint ice-cream, among many other dishes that play with flavours, aromas and colours.
