The President Hotel: Your New Cape Town Home

Situated in a prime location in Bantry Bay, just below majestic Lion’s Head and overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, the President Hotel is perfectly suited for a Cape Town getaway.

Recently I was lucky enough to spend a night at the President Hotel, after a truly spectacular meal showcasing their new menu which was crafted by their recently appointed Executive Chef Philip Alcock, which you can read about HERE.

The President Hotel is known for their impeccable service; from the moment we arrived we felt welcome, the staff were friendly and attentive and check-in couldn’t have been smoother.

We stayed in a One Bedroom Apartment, which had every amenity you could desire for a short stay. The open plan lounge, dining area and kitchenette was spacious and sleek, while still feeling homey. After setting our bags down, we took a moment to take in the view of the last rays of sunlight on the Atlantic ocean while sipping on red wine, exactly the kind of experience you’re after in winter. The apartment was the ideal combination of luxury, comfort and utility.

The bedroom itself was incredibly cozy, with an inviting bed made-up with big, fluffy white pillows and a plush duvet. The room was sleek yet ultra-comfortable, with a dark leather headboard, wooden cupboard and flat-screen TV. I also greatly appreciated the dark curtains that could block out all external light for a better night’s sleep. A room designed for rest, we woke up feeling refreshed and started our day with a cup of Lavazza coffee.

Everything in the apartment had been thought of, from strategically placed water saving reminders to super-fast wifi and a guest smart phone which was free to use for the duration of the stay. The Lavazza coffee machine provided was also an extra treat, set up with coffee pods and extras. The layout of the apartment felt natural, and it didn’t take long to feel at home in the space. The room also felt completely private, there was no noise or interference, as every part of the experience is tailored for relaxation.

We ended off our President Hotel experience with a visit to their glorious Breakfast Buffet. The buffet selection had a bit of everything, an abundant offering of freshly-baked pastries, bread, pancakes, fruits, spreads and cereals aplenty. The hot food selection offered all the usual tasty items to make up the ultimate English Breakfast, along with a fry up station for your choice of eggs.

A sophisticated space that still retained a relaxed atmosphere, the President Hotel offered a complete holiday experience by taking care of absolutely everything. Even after a single night I felt as if I’d had a mini vacation. Excellent food, professional service and rooms designed for comfort and rest, the President Hotel in its stellar Bantry Bay location offers an all-inclusive hotel experience that would be an absolute highlight of your Cape Town stay.
