Winter lunches are made for good food, great conversation and a little extra comfort, and De Vette Mossel Hermanus has created a special event just for pensioners.
On Friday, 17 July 2026 from 12:00, guests aged 60 and older are invited to enjoy an exclusive Pensioners Lunch for R199 per person, bringing together hearty West Coast flavours in the relaxed seaside setting the restaurant is known for.
The relaxed atmosphere, crackling fire cooking and generous home-style dishes make the lunch feel like a gathering of old friends rather than a formal event.
- The menu begins with freshly baked pot bread served with farm butter and jam before moving on to tender mussel meat prepared with onions, garlic and butter. From there, guests can tuck into traditional West Coast snoek served with sweet potatoes, followed by a comforting meat potjie with flavoured rice. To finish on a sweet note, coffee or tea is served alongside classic koeksisters.
It’s an opportunity to slow down, enjoy familiar flavours and spend an afternoon sharing stories over comforting food. Seats are limited and bookings are expected to fill quickly, so early reservations are recommended.
