The President Hotel is giving Thursday nights a polished little glow-up with its Date Night Under the Stars experience.
Set against the Atlantic Ocean from 6:30pm, the evening offers a relaxed but elegant three-course dining experience with paired drinks, all under the Cape Town sky.
Priced at R750 per person, the menu starts with a Saldanha Bay oyster served with red wine mignonette, paired with a non-alcoholic cucumber spritzer.
- Starters follow with beetroot tortellini, paired with a French 75, bringing a bright and playful start to the meal.
- For mains, guests can choose between miso glazed pumpkin with shiitake and shimeji pearl barley risotto, toasted pumpkin seed and ginger crumble, honey and lime dressing, or fillet steak with potato purée, baby carrots, roasted baby onions, gremolata, tenderstem broccolini, and beef jus. The course is paired with an old fashioned.
- Dessert keeps things proudly local with apricot and rooibos malva, served with rooibos anglaise, apricot compote, brown sugar crémeux, and brown sugar tuile. It is paired with a gin sour, because a date night should end with something a little cheeky.
The experience is available every Thursday, subject to availability, and booking is essential. In case of adverse weather, the evening will move indoors, so the mood stays intact even if Cape Town decides to be dramatic. Bookings are essential.
