The celebrations begin with the Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea on Saturday, 9 May 2026 at 2pm.
- Hosted at Botany Café, the experience includes a refreshing fynbos spritz on arrival, followed by a selection of seasonal sweet and savoury treats. Guests can expect a harvest table with burrata, caprese salad, honey roasted pears, roasted butternut, charcuterie cups, breads and dips, along with sandwiches including baguette and rosemary and sea salt focaccia. The sweet side brings fruit platters, raspberry rose cake, berry pavlova, tiramisu brownie, and hibiscus ruby cheesecake tart. Each mom also receives a Healing Earth gift, with live music adding an easy, elegant rhythm to the afternoon. The cost is R495 per person and R245 per child.
On Sunday, 10 May 2026 at 12:30pm, The President Hotel hosts its Mother’s Day Lunch, beginning with a welcome reception of canapés and cocktails.
- The fynbos-inspired buffet includes starters such as Saldanha oysters, roasted vegetables, green bean and new potato salad, grilled halloumi and avocado, caprese salad, bread and dips, and roasted cauliflower and celeriac soup.
- Mains range from roasted lamb shoulder and grilled kingklip to citrus roasted chicken and green Thai vegetable curry, served with smashed roasted potatoes, root vegetables, and jasmine rice.
- Dessert keeps the celebration firmly in “just one more bite” territory, with rooibos and hazelnut cake, carrot cake, sticky toffee pudding, mascarpone and coffee tart, almond and citrus, vegan chocolate pecan tart, berry cheesecake, and a seasonal fruit platter. Children are also looked after with their own buffet, including beef sliders, chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, BYO pizza, loaded fries, broccoli and carrots, plus a dessert station with cake pops, milk and cookies, and a chocolate fountain. Lunch is priced at R725 per adult and R365 per child.
