Benguela Cove Launches Easter Egg Hunt and Nature Trail for Families This Easter Weekend

Walker Bay wine estate brings a sustainability-themed Easter experience to the Western Cape, with activities for children, estate dining, and long weekend packages for the whole family

Benguela Cove Wine Estate brings an Easter Egg Hunt filled with fun and prizes, running across the Easter long weekend from Friday 3 to Sunday 5 April 2026.

Set against the estate’s 200-hectare maritime landscape, the event gives children aged 4 to 12 a chance to explore the grounds, discover the natural surroundings, and compete for a range of prizes – all for R150 per child.

The trail runs on the hour with slots between 10:00 to 15:00 each day.

  • As a WWF Conservation Champion winery situated within a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Benguela Cove uses the occasion to connect children with the landscape they’re moving through – each stop on the trail introduces young Eggsplorers to the natural environment that makes this estate so distinct.

Every child who completes the trail receives an Easter goodie packet and qualifies for a tiered prize structure – details of which are kept firmly under wraps until the day. What the estate will confirm: there are multiple ways to win, the prizes are worth hunting for, and the golden egg is the one to find.

“We wanted to create something that felt genuinely rewarding for children and give families a reason to make a proper weekend of it,” says the Benguela Cove events team.

For parents and families, two dining options run alongside the hunt:

  • Blackbeard’s Diner, adjacent to the Pirate Adventure Golf course and Splash Waterpark, opens from 09:30 to 20:00 across the weekend – a relaxed, all-day option that fits around the trail schedule. On Easter Saturday, a breakfast special runs from 08:30 for those joining the estate’s weekly ParkRun.
  • Moody Lagoon Restaurantserves brunch from 09:30 to 11:30 and lunch thereafter, with Easter Sunday bringing a special menu
  • Easter Picnic Basketswith child-friendly options are available throughout the weekend and can be pre-ordered.

The Easter Egg Hunt sits within a broader offering that makes Benguela Cove one of the Western Cape’s most complete family destinations. The estate’s Pirate Adventure Golf, Splash Waterpark, vineyard safari tours, and wine tasting experiences all remain open across the weekend. Accommodation runs across multiple architect-designed waterfront villas (self-catering or serviced), perfect for a long weekend getaway.

Benguela Cove sits 90 minutes from Cape Town International Airport and 15 minutes from Hermanus town.
