If you’re wondering what happens when fabulous meets fork, wonder no more.
Mon Amour in Franschhoek is serving up more than just dinner this May – they’re delivering sass, sequins, and showbiz sparkle with Specifically Cathy, a glittering two-night event that’s as bold as a Bloody Mary at brunch.
Back by public demand for two nights only – Friday 23 May and Saturday 24 May.
- Specifically Cathy stars the ever-glamorous, impossibly glamorous Cathy Specific (aka Brendan van Rhyn), South Africa’s first lady of flying and the sassiest singing stewardess the skies have ever known. This is no regular cabaret; it’s part dinner, part diva, and all decadence.
Dinner starts at 18:00, with the show taking off at 20:00. Tickets start at just R250, which is frankly a steal for a night that promises laughter, glamour, and probably a few dramatic wig reveals.
Behind the lashes and lipstick is Brendan van Rhyn – a multi award-winning performer who first donned a dress in 1984 and never looked back. Cathy was born in 2007 and has since soared from Boston to Bloemfontein, leaving a trail of dazzled audiences, flustered fans, and perfectly coordinated luggage.
Expect powerhouse vocals, backstage confessions, and enough rhinestones to blind a Boeing. Cathy doesn’t just break the fourth wall – she flirts with it, flips it, and maybe even invites it for a post-show cocktail.
Mon Amour’s already magical setting makes this the ultimate pairing of fine dining and fabulousness. So polish those shoes, prep the camera roll, and get ready to laugh, sing, and maybe even cry (glitter tears, of course). Book your boarding pass via Quicket – and don’t be late, darling. Cathy waits for no one.
