V&A Market Review

Cape Town is full of markets. They’re scattered all over the place. The V&A Market Wharf re-launched last week, and it has different angle. An angle I quite like.

V&A Marktet Wharf

First up, it’s open Wednesday – Sunday every week. Secondly, instead of only selling products and ready-made food, you can go there to buy your necessities. There’s a deli, a grocery counter, you can buy cheeses, spices and even coffee. There is even a kosher section! Thirdly, there are cooking demos, called Kitchen Parties, hosted by Sonia Cabano and other wonderful chefs. The market is enormous. Every corner I turned I found another area, filled with odds and ends to fill your kitchen cupboards.

There are a few areas that could use a little amping up. The veg stands missed a few simple items, and I heard there used to be a fish shop, which isn’t there anymore. But overall, the V&A market is glorious addition to Cape Town.
