A Gourmet Evening at 1000 Hills Chef School with 6 Courses & Winshaw Wines

An elegant evening in the hills is about to get very delicious.

On 29 May, 1000 Hills Chef School invites guests to its Fine Dining in the Hills experience, a six-course gourmet evening where polished plates, thoughtful wine pairings, and a little culinary theatre come together for one memorable night out.

Priced at R625 per person, the evening showcases menus meticulously crafted by the school’s student chefs, proving that emerging culinary talent can be every bit as exciting as established names.

  • The experience begins at 18:00 for a 18:30 seating, with guests welcomed by a tasting hosted by Kelsey Fisher from Paint The Town Wine, setting the tone before the first plate even lands.

The menu is unapologetically indulgent. Guests will begin with Parsnip Brûlé paired with Winshaw’s The Runaway Pinot Gris, followed by Line Fish matched with Dust to Grapes Chardonnay. The heartier middle acts bring serious flavour, with Beef Brisket paired with The Fox Cabernet Sauvignon, alongside a Duck Breast course matched with Winshaw Malbec, with flavour notes of blackberry and star anise adding extra intrigue. Just when guests may think they’ve reached capacity, the evening takes a sweeter turn with a white chocolate and sesame pre-dessert, before closing with a classic Paris Brest filled with praline cream, finished with almonds and icing sugar.

Booking is essential, and dietary requirements can be accommodated with prior notice.
