Going to a museums is not only a pass-time for members of high society anymore. This is certainly the case when talking about Pizza Brain – the new pizza museum that will open its doors in Philadelphia. It is the life’s work of Brian Dwyer who calls himself a professional collector of pizza memorabilia.
This however will not be the only strange food museum out there in the world. It will join the likes of the memorable ‘Museum of Burned Food’ as well as the ‘International Vinegar Museum’. Here is a look at the most over-the-top museums that are dedicated to food.
1. Museum of Burned Food
One man’s burned toast is another man’s idea to open a museum dedicated to it. This museum has honoured culinary disasters for the last 20 years and can be found in Massachusetts, US. Here you will find the classics such as burned toast while charred lemons are among the more exotic pieces. Although it is only open to the public a few times a year.
2. Bionic Burger Museum
This museum can be found on the Interweb so that its wonders can be viewed 24/7 by everyone who dares to follow this link. The idea occurred to the founder as he found a 1 year old burger in his jacket pocket that he forgot about. As it looked exactly the same as a fresh burger, he decided to tell the world about it and there is no better way to do this than to start his very own museum dedicated to burgers.
3. International Vinegar Museum
This museum was created by a man that is known as the Vinegar Man in some circles. He has dedicated his life to collecting different types of vinegars and then displaying it to others who share a similar passion. You will also be educated about its cooking uses, the origins of vinegar as well as historical trends of vinegar.
4. The Currywurst Museum
The Currywurst is probably one of Germany’s most popular snack foods. At the Currywurst museum, visitors are able to taste and sniff different types of curry blends.
5. The Jell-O Gallery
At one time, Jell-O was one of the first products that was sold door-to-door. If you want to know more facts about this iconic treat then you should visit The Jell-O Gallery. Highlights include how Bill Cosby has influenced the Jell-O industry.
