Wining and Dining in Knysna: Alvi’s Drift Takes Over Island Café for One Night Only at Turbine Hotel & Spa

Wine glasses at the ready! On 10 July 2025, the Turbine Boutique Hotel & Spa in Knysna is rolling out the red carpet for a night of fine wine, fabulous food, and laid-back luxury at their Alvi’s Drift Food & Wine Pairing Evening.

Hosted at the stylish Island Café as part of the Knysna Oyster Festival, this exclusive event is a chance to taste some of Alvi’s Drift’s finest wines—each paired with beautifully crafted dishes, all under the guidance of Cape Wine Master Junel van der Merwe.

Whether you’re a long-time local or just lucky enough to be cruising the Garden Route this July, this is your perfect excuse to dress up, dine out, and sip something sensational.

What’s on the menu?

Start the evening with a welcome glass of Alvi’s Drift Sparkling Brut Blanc de Blanc, then settle in for a four-course feast where each dish is paired with one of Alvi’s Drift’s award-winning wines:

First Course
Saldanha Bay oyster plate with pickled cucumber, sesame, radish salad, and an oyster shepherd’s pie – paired with Brut Cap Classique

Second Course
Choose between:
🦐 Prawn Bisque with herb aioli & baguette (paired with Chenin Blanc)
OR
🍗 Roast Quail with pumpkin & herb risotto (paired with Chardonnay)

Third Course
Rich and hearty Oxtail Ragout with potato pavé & winter vegetables – paired with Albertus Viljoen Bismarck

Dessert
Baked Apple Tarte Tatin with basil ice cream – served with Muscat Nectarina
