Women With A Passion Support Group – Empowering Women, One Step at a Time
- The luncheon at The Turbine Boutique Hotel seeks to raise funds in aid of Women With A Passion Support Group, a noble initiative founded by the late Margaret Patricia Borcherds, affectionately known as Ma Rita.
Her vision of uplifting women in the Hornlee community of Knysna led to the establishment of an informal women’s support group, which eventually blossomed into a national movement of Women’s Conferences and an At Risk Youth Support Group.
Through its At Risk Youth Support Group, the organization provides mentoring and ministry-related activities to the youth, ranging from personal life-skills coaching to pregnancy support for young mothers. In addition, counseling, clothing, personal hygiene items, and nourishing refreshments are made available to those in need.
The Hornlee Era Ladies Support Group focuses on empowering and mentoring women, guiding them to fulfill their roles as mothers, sisters, wives, and leaders in their communities. By providing a supportive environment, women are encouraged to find their voices and make a positive impact.
A Poetic Tribute to Women – Chloe Petersen
The Women’s Day luncheon will also feature a heartwarming poetic tribute by Chloe Petersen, a talented and promising young poet. Chloe, who is not only a waitress but also an advocate of creative expression, will share a poem she wrote in honor of Women’s Day, adding a touch of artistic flair to the celebration.
