Valentine\u2019s Day was an absolute treat at Oliver\u2019s. From the moment you walk you were greeted with flair, friendliness and Tanja the hostess greets each guest personally.<\/p>\n

We were able to choose our own wine and went for Pierre Jordan Tranquille, which is a Chardonnay\/Pinot blend. We thought that this would pair great with our food choices for the day.<\/p>\n

The food was outstanding. For starters we had the melt in your mouth mild peri-peri chicken livers and the beetroot carpaccio with goats cheese. Both these were exquisite. It was a hard decision to make as the other options were roasted red bell pepper and tomato soup of crab and shrimp timbale with tempura prawn. They even had fresh oysters from Swakopmund to treat their guests.<\/p>\n

Moving to main course we enjoyed a perfectly cooked kudu fillet with B\u00e9arnaise sauce and hasselback potatoes and seared Scottish salmon in a poppy seed crust with a saffron butter sauce on a bed of creamy mashed potato and seasonal veggies. Again it was so hard to choose between a beef fillet, stuffed Spanish chicken breast, pork roast or slow roasted Pinotage lamb shank.<\/p>\n

\nWe ended the delightful day off with a rum and raison mocha float and Austrian apple strudel, which Oliver\u2019s is very well known for. Their other desserts were molten chocolate pudding or refreshing summer berry sorbet.<\/p>\n
