(Psst \u2026 it\u2019s pronounced \u201cPOH-keh.\u201d). In Cape Town, poke shops are popping up faster than ever&#8230; so what is this food trend, anyway \u2014 and what\u2019s the appeal?<\/p>\n<p>Poke means \u201cto slice or cut\u201d in Hawaiian and refers to chunks of raw, marinated fish \u2014 usually tuna \u2014 which is then tossed over rice and topped with vegetables and umami-packed sauces.It&#8217;s the next generation of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.food-blog.co.za\/joburg\/joburg-sushi-specials\/\">sushi<\/a>..in a bowl.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Until the 18th of February, two poke bowls will be on promotion at CTFM.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Mixed Poke Bowl &#8211; R99<\/p>\n<p><em>Salmon, tuna, bean curd, prawn, avocado, sesame seeds, seven spice and rice, served with spicy mayo and a sweet soy sauce.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Tuna Poke Bowl \u2013 R92<\/p>\n<p><em>Tuna, cucumber, radish, avocado.
