{"id":3779,"date":"2017-11-16T21:45:00","date_gmt":"2017-11-16T19:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.food-blog.co.za\/joburg\/?p=3779"},"modified":"2017-11-16T21:45:11","modified_gmt":"2017-11-16T19:45:11","slug":"rosto-building-a-restaurant-and-brand-with-a-conscience","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.food-blog.co.za\/joburg\/rosto-building-a-restaurant-and-brand-with-a-conscience\/","title":{"rendered":"Rosto: Building a restaurant, and brand, with a conscience"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">Sustainable and environmentally-friendly business practice has always been in the spotlight for ROSTO in Linden.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Reflecting on a year of operations in Linden, ROSTO\u2019s founding team has taken stock of how they managed to minimise their impact on the environment, as well as uplift communities through supporting hand-made products.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201c<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>We\u2019re free-range to earth-friendly<\/strong><\/span>,\u201d explains Founder of ROSTO, Lance Littlefield, who explored every possible option to recycle, upcycle and repurpose materials when fitting out the ROSTO interior.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">All of the wood in our shop is reclaimed timber. Our tables, counters and shelves started out as roof trusses in Pietermaritzburg; and were given their second lease when we were on the lookout for reclaimed oregon pine to fit out our eatery.
