Oreo wanted us to create our very own festive-type holiday inspired recipe, incorporating their new brand Oreo Golden. Sounds great, hey? Yeah totally, except for a small problem\u2026..I hate baking. I hate that there are so many rules. I hate that you can\u2019t just add stuff and live like a free house elf!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">But I never say no to a challenge. Ever. So I sat down, pondered over a Golden Oreo and a cup of tea and came up with my own Easy-Peasy-Kinda \u2013 Festive &#8211; Cupcakes! Believe me, if I can make these successfully, then so can you.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Easy-Peasy-Kinda-Festive-Cupcakes<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Banana, Vanilla, Cinnamon and Golden Oreo with a <\/em><br \/>\n<em> Golden Oreo Centre Cream Cheese Topping.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Makes 24 (if you don\u2019t eat the batter like me and end up with 22)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-53947\" src=\"http:\/\/www.food-blog.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/IMG_7791.jpg\" alt=\"img_7791\" width=\"576\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Ingredients<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>2 boxes Golden Oreos (we\u2019re going to use them a variety of ways)<\/p>\n<p>5 bananas<br \/>\n2 tsp cinnamon<br \/>\n2 tsp vanilla essence<\/p>\n<p>1 cup vegetable\/sunflower oil<br \/>\n1\u00bc cups sugar<br \/>\n2 eggs<\/p>\n<p>4 cups flour<br \/>\n2 tsp baking soda<br \/>\n1 tsp salt<\/p>\n<p>230g full fat smooth cream cheese<br \/>\n\u00bd cup butter<br \/>\n\u00bd cup icing sugar<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Method<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Preheat oven to 180.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mash the bananas. Add cinnamon and vanilla essence.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Vigorously beat the oil, sugar and eggs together until pale yellow.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mix the banana mixture and eggy-oily-sugary mixture together.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sift in the flour, baking powder and salt. Mix thoroughly. It will be very, very thick. Don\u2019t freak out. It works. Roughly break +- 10 Oreos into the mix and stir.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Put cupcakes holders in a baking tray. Halve the Oreos by twisting them (yeah, you learnt that from the TV ad) and place one in each cupcake holder, icing side up.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dollop the batter on top of each Oreo and cook at 180 for 20 minutes. Check on them by poking one with a knife. If it comes out clean, it\u2019s cooked.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mix the butter, cream cheese and the centre of 10 Oreos well (we\u2019ll use the outsides to decorate). Sift in icing sugar. You can use more if you like, I don\u2019t like it too sweet. Mix mix mix.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Once the cupcakes are 100% cooled, smear on some icing, top with one of the half Oreo biscuits, crushed Oreo or fresh sliced banana.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-53949 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.food-blog.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/IMG_7795.jpg\" alt=\"img_7795\" width=\"950\" height=\"713\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I swear to you, this is super easy and really delicious. And when you show your peeps that there is a cute little Oreo hiding at the bottom, they will swoon.
