We have a long history of brandy-making (over\u00a0300 years) in this country and looking at the numerous awards our local producers have been winning, they are closing in on perfection with every new year.<\/p>\n<p>Neat or on the rocks, you are more than welcome to drink brandy the traditional way. But in the coming weeks, we\u2019ll be showcasing a few recipes to spice up the taste a little more. In addition, with every post, you will have the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>chance of winning an incredible prize that is worth nearly R1,500.\u00a0Scroll down for more information.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cafe Francais Recipe<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n50ml Richelieu 10<br \/>\n20ml Orange Liquor<br \/>\nTop with filter coffee<br \/>\nTop with vanilla whipped cream<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-53071\" src=\"http:\/\/www.food-blog.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/RICHELIEU-10-YEAR-WITH-COFFEE-CUP.jpg\" alt=\"RICHELIEU 10 YEAR WITH COFFEE CUP\" width=\"427\" height=\"640\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Method:<\/strong><\/span> Pre-heat the mug with hot water. Pour all ingredients into the mug and top with vanilla whipped cream. If the whipped cream is hand whipped then slowly pour over a spoon onto the coffee. Grate some dark chocolate over whipped cream and garnish with orange zest.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Vanilla whipped cream:<\/strong><\/span> pour 250ml whipping cream, 250ml full cream milk and 100ml vanilla syrup into a cream gun and gas with two co2 bombs or simply whip with whisk in a mixing bowl.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Vanilla syrup:<\/strong><\/span> equal parts sugar and water reduced on the stove top with two open vanilla beans. Bring to a simmer and simmer for 15 minutes.
