Easter in Knysna has a way of feeling both relaxed and quietly refined—and at The Turbine Boutique Hotel & Spa, that balance is reflected in a lunch experience that’s thoughtfully put together without being overdone.
Hosted at Island Café, this year’s Easter Sunday lunch (5 April 2026) is designed as an à la carte experience with a curated feel.
It’s structured enough to feel like an occasion, but flexible enough to suit how guests want to spend their afternoon.
- The menu focuses on a few well-executed choices rather than overwhelming variety. For mains, the pan-seared linefish offers something light yet layered, served with steamed greens, a parsley velouté, and a saffron chardonnay caviar that adds a subtle richness. For those leaning towards something more indulgent, the oven-roasted ostrich fillet brings depth and texture, paired with a roast cauliflower “cloud” and a forest mushroom and pear ragout—along with a glass of estate wine included.
- Dessert leans fully into Easter tradition with a modern touch. The Easter tasting plate combines spiced chocolate bread and butter pudding with a caramelised nut and roasted pear tartlet, finished with chocolate nut soil and vanilla bean ice cream. It’s balanced, not overly heavy, and a fitting end to the meal.
At R360 per person, the experience is positioned as a complete, considered lunch rather than a quick bite. Service begins at 12:30, with a smart casual dress code that keeps things polished without feeling formal. Ultimately, Easter at The Turbine is less about spectacle and more about detail—good food, a well-paced setting, and a Knysna backdrop that does the rest. It’s the kind of lunch that feels easy to settle into and hard to rush.
