Hello to a made fresh to order burger made with natural ingredients that\u2019s actually good for you.<\/p>\n<p><u>The <em>Normal Burger<\/em>, born in lockdown, turns fast-food on its head.<\/u><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>We believe that it should be normal for burgers to be made from pastured-reared beef, fresh greens and tomatoes, with additive-free buns. The Normal Burger is taking a stand again the way we have normalised foods that we know are not good for us. It shows South Africans that we do have healthier everyday choices that make a difference; and we can use them to create a better life, a better community and a better country. &#8211; Dean Kowarski, Kauai\u2019s CEO<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong><u>Ok so how is the Normal Burger different? <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The beef patty is made with 100% South African Angus beef and is only seasoned with salt and pepper, no added anything. The pasture-reared Angus cattle are free to roam and do not get fed any growth hormones.<\/li>\n<li>The bun is made from high quality wheat, and is free of added sugars, preservatives, flavourants, colourants, stabilisers and flour improvers.<\/li>\n<li>The sauce and garnish boasts free-range egg based mayo and mustard freshly made at the store. All lettuce, tomatoes, and gherkins are farmed locally.<\/li>\n<li>Each Normal Burger is made fresh-to-order to maximise flavour.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-87487\" src=\"http:\/\/www.food-blog.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Top-down-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1150\" height=\"767\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Our Thoughts?<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There are three options to choose from: The Normal Burger (R59); the Normal Cheeseburger (R69) and The Normal Mexi Burger (R79). We couldn\u2019t choose, so we got them all. #hangry<\/p>\n<p><u>The Normal Burger<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Simple isn\u2019t boring. A simply delicious, juicy Angus beef patty, topped with fresh tomato, greens and gherkins. The tangy free range egg mustard mayo brings the entire burger together beautifully.<\/p>\n<p><u>The Normal Cheeseburger<\/u><\/p>\n<p>All the goodness of the Normal Burger with a slice of white cheddar cheese that\u2019s free from artificial colourants. It\u2019s not as bright of a yellow as the cheese you\u2019re used to (who knew it was all dyed?) but it tastes incredible.<\/p>\n<p><u>The Normal Mexi Burger<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Bring a bit of spice into your life with chipotle, jalapeno, coriander, avocado and spring onion. It has a great spice to it, but it doesn\u2019t overpower the flavour of the 100% pure Angus beef patty.<\/p>\n<p><u>Overall<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Usually I find that one part of a burger stands out: a delicious patty with tons of flavour, the creamy sauce, the creative toppings, the toasted brioche bun. But with the Normal Burgers, every ingredient plays a part. I can\u2019t tell you whether I liked the patty, the sauce or the bun the most. Because every ingredient has its own unique role, it\u2019s one of the best burgers I\u2019ve had in a while. And even better?
